C R E D I T S

BBC ASIA

I filmed on this for just over one year. Taking me all over the wonderful and vibrant continent of Asia.
From the isolation and silence of the vast Gobi Desert, to the raucous jungles of southern Nepal, and from the deep unexplored caves of northern Thailand to the pristine coral seas of the far flung archipelago of Palau.
I got to see and do it all on this series, pioneering new and exciting techniques at every turn.
Not forgetting the fantastic people I got to work with and the special wildlife I got to witness. This was a dream come true to work on for so many reasons.

This series will showcase the breath-taking variety of Asia’s wildest places.

I have been lucky to spend so much time working with Silverback Films on various productions, including Disney's Polar Bear, Netflix's Our Planet II and Life on our Planet, as well as BBC Wild Isles.

BBC Wild Isles will always stand out for me for a few reasons. For almost two years, I was the in-house operator on this production - one of blood, sweat, some more blood and tears. But also one of so many laughs and wonderful times with a fantastic team and fantastic wildlife, from filming tiny mayfly to giant grey seal bulls fighting on remote beaches, secretive capercaillie leks in pristine Scottish pine forest to witnessing starling murmurations in a muddy field in wild Cornwall. It was a time full of contrast and variety: showcasing the best of what these isles have to offer whilst highlighting the dire need, responsibility and urgency for us to act to protect the species we have left.

Additional productions I've been involved with include

  • Apple TVs Tiny World, for which I travelled to Canada to film hooded mergansers
  • I was the sole drone operator for the UK leg of National Geographic's Story of God with Morgan Freeman
  • Employed over two productions for Tigress Films. One of these productions - Atlantic: A Year in the Wild - took me all over Scotland, from the west coast of Loch Tay to the Isle of Skye and up to Shetland over numerous trips and involved filming landscapes, otters and orcas with drone and long lens
  • I produced my own film with BBC Springwatch - an intimate film about my time spent with an otter in the heart of Edinburgh.

  • I worked on two productions for Maramedia's series Scotland's Wild Heart and Wild Way of the Vikings. Filming took place across Scotland and beyond to Iceland, and I was privileged to work alongside a talented team including Raymond Besant, Neil Anderson and Lindsay McCrae.
